Tag: Dirty Little Secrets

Hello Lovelies!

I hope you are all well and are having a lovely summer! I was at work almost every day for the past two weeks which is why I haven't been blogging, but after a lovely trip to Alton Towers yesterday and today I am back and ready to blog! So I thought I would start with this fun tag that the lovely Ariel from chiclookxo just posted!

1. What TV/Film show do you secretly watch?

I haven't watched it for a while but I used to love iCarly :') I am also becoming obsessed with The Hills again!

2. What song do you secretly know all the words to?

This answer is the same as Ariel but Super Bass by Nicki Minaj haha! I also know all of the words to Good Time by Carly Rae Jepsen and Owl City or SOS by the Jonas Brothers haha!!

3. Who is the one "non-famous" person you'd secretly like to meet?
(Blogger/YouTuber related)

I can't say one so I am going to make a list!
For bloggers I'd like to meet Ariel, Alona, Maria, Lauren, Perdi and Cerys :) To be honest I would love to meet you all! <3

For youtube I'd love to meet the Shaytards or Tanya Burr :) I also love Boyce Avenue but I got to see them in London really recently!

4. What is your worst bad habit?

Injuring myself / clumsiness. I hurt myself all the time in the space of 24hours I managed to burn my neck on my ghd's, smash my toe on the door of Esquires (a coffee shop) and trip over a box at work!!!

5. What is the most expensive thing you own? Do you regret buying it?

The most expensive thing I have bought with my own money was a Guess bag a couple of years ago in Florida, I'd been saving money for that holiday so I didn't regret buying it, in fact I use it all the time :) Anything more expensive I have received as a gift so I can't say I regret buying it haha!

6. What is your biggest pet peeve?

When people come into my room and the door is shut but leave it open when they leave!!

7. What do you secretly like the smell of?

I don't secretly like the smell of anything :') But I like the smell of BBQ's because they remind me of summer!

8. What are you secretly lusting after?

The Olympics!!!! I am seriously obsessed, maybe because it's  half an hour away in London, maybe it's because I like to look at the athletes (I never watch sports!) but I have been glued to the screen for the past two weeks! I am actually going to the Paralympic Athletics in the Olympic Stadium with my Dad and Chloe in a few weeks - I am SO excited! It has also become mine and my friends mission to get tickets to see Tom Dayley dive on Friday!!!!

I TAG YOU ALL!! :)

Also here's a little video of me embarrassing myself zorbing the other day with my Dad! I almost kicked the poor man working there in the face after he specifically asked me not to!!!!

Hopefully that made you giggle as much as my sister in the background!!!

Let me know which country you are supporting for the Olympics! (Go Team GB!!!)

New Uni Series - Applying to University (Part One)

Hello my lovelies!

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend, it's finally looking a bit like summer here in Essex!

I have a spare couple of hours so I thought I'd start my new University series, these posts will vary as and when things happen but I thought I'd write a quick little post on my experience with the application process which will be part one, and I will do another post in the future on writing a personal statement because that's a whole other story haha! Hopefully those of you who will be applying withing the next couple of years will find this helpful, I am by no means an expert but I found other peoples experiences and advice so useful so I thought I'd share mine with you!

1. Do I actually want to go to University?

So this is the obvious first question! University has always been something that I wanted to do since I was a young girl, I've always been fairly academic so the choice was fairly easy for me, however, I know that some of my friends have struggled with making the same decision. Tuition fees for a lot of Uni's have now risen to £9000 per year, and my year group is the first in the UK to have to pay the risen fees which can seem really off-putting! However, when you look more deeply into it you won't start paying anything back until you are earning £21,000 a year I believe, and your tuition fees are payed for automatically from your student loan. I won't go into too much depth with student finance because that would end up being a whole different post altogether!! What I am trying to say is that university is affordable for almost everyone so don't let tuition fees scare you!
Another factor to take into account is whether or not you want to go. Please do not let anyone whether it be pushy teachers, friends or your parents make this decision for you, but at the same time do not let nerves or fears stop you from going. As long as you are willing to spend three or more years in education, studying a subject you love then I'd say go for it! But if you do not want to, maybe take a gap year or look for some other form of employment or apprenticeship :)

2. Which subject should I take?

As some of you may know I am going to be doing a joint honors degree in Sociology and Social Science with Applied Criminology (It's a bit of a mouthful haha!) When deciding which subject to take I thought about my A Levels and which subject I enjoyed the most - which in my case was Sociology, a subject that I love and I am fairly good at, I also studied crime and deviance as one of my units and found that really interesting too which helped me to come to my decision. The other for universities I applied to, I chose Sociology and Criminology, but the university I liked best offered the degree above which is a bit more varied, offering elements of psychology etc.

So my best advice for you guys is to pick a subject you already or know you will enjoy and are interested in, as well as picking a subject you are good at. If you are really good at something but hate doing it, then you won't want to spend three years purely studying that subject! If like me you like a little variety, then a joint honors degree might be for you!

3. Which universities should I apply to?

There's three main ways to cut the hundreds of universities down in my opinion :)
  • Will you be moving out or staying at home? - If you would like to stay at home while studying at university, then you will obviously have to focus on researching universities that you can realistically get to, this will help to cut down your choices :)
  • How far away am I willing to move? - If you are (like me) going to move out, you need to decide how far away from home you are willing to be away from home, and also where you would like to live. I have decided on a university that is about a 2 hour drive away! You need to not only choose a university you feel comfortable in, but also a town / city that you will be happy living in!
  • What are my predicted grades? - One way to pick is by looking at universities entry requirements, and comparing that to your predicted grades to see whether you would realistically get in. The advice often given is that you should pick 2/3 uni's that meet your predicted grades 1 with lower requirements and one with higher.
Another piece of advice I would give is to visit universities!!!! It is honestly the best way to decide where to go, you will automatically get a feel for the place and will be able to see whether you will feel comfortable going there! I thought I'd love some places, but when I actually visited them I wasn't so keen!

I hope some of you found this helpful! Please let me know if you have any questions and would like to see more of these posts :)

Long Time No Speak + Your Opinions

Hello Lovely Bloggers!

I think I owe everyone a bit of an explanation seeing as I have been MIA for the past month and a half! (Sorry!!!)

As some of you may remember I was in my final year of college taking my final A Level exams, which meant I have been studying like crazy - I am one of those people who panics about just about every exam I take so I along with the majority of my friends became completely antisocial for the first three weeks of June while revising! Anyway, my exams are finally over, I have left college and am preparing myself this summer to start university in September, which means I will have a lot more free time to blog - I am finally back and ready to start posting what ever you would like to see!

In the run up to starting university I was wondering if you guys would like to see any advice posts, possibly starting with the application process as I have already completed it :) I might also blog my experiences as they happen if you guys would be interested?

Anyway, sorry for the quick post, I promise I will get better!

Stay Beautiful,

Hannah

Nail Polish Haul - China Glaze, Essie + OPI

Hello Lovelies!

I am so sorry that I have been MIA for the past couple of weeks, I'm in the final stages of college before I leave which means until the 20th June (yes I am counting down the days til my final exam) my posts probably won't be very regular! I am in the process of revising and attempting to get the grades I need for university! Anyway, I thought I would do a nail polish haul as I have accumulated rather a lot recently! Seeing as it's about 9pm my lighting is terrible so I am going to have to use some pictures online, all rights go to who ever took the pictures!

China Glaze - Capitol Colors

As part of my birthday present my lovely sister Chloe got me three of the China Glaze Hunger Games nail polishes, I am absolutely obsessed with these because as most of you guys know I am obsessed with both nail polish and The Hunger Games, so when they combine together I am basically in heaven! I can't tell you the prices of these ones because I don't actually know where Chloe got them from! Dress Me Up is a gorgeous dusky pink which represents Districh 8 - Textiles. Harvest Moon is a gorgeous burnt orange / copper colour that will probably be more appropriate to wear in the autumn but I love the colour, it represents District 9 which is grain I believe. Finally we have Fast Track originally I thought this was for District 2 but apparently it's District 6 which is Transportation. It's a beautiful neutrak beige with tiny gold glitters in it, I had a few compliments when I wore this one!

OPI

These were the only polyvore pictures I could find but anyway, i found these lovely colours on fragrancedirect.com for £6.50 each which is super cheap for a full size OPI here in the UK. Too Hot Pink to Hold 'Em is from the Texas Collect, as you can see it is a lovely dark hot pink, but it seems to have a gel like finish which I love! Sparrow me The Drama is one of my favourites, it's from the Pirates of the Caribbean collection, the polish is the perfect pink in my opinion, it's not too pale and it's not too bright, there's also a hint of lilac in there - perfect for spring / summer!

Essie Turquois and Caicos

So, last week I came to the realisation that my local Boots has started to stock Essie nail polish, which ofocurse made me super excited! My friend thought I had gone absolutely mental when I started going off on one about how excited I was in the middle of the store! Which ofcourse meant that I had to buy one right? So I decided to go for the cult favourite Turquoise and Caicos which is a lovely Tiffany Blue colour! This cost £8 (Also as a little story, I was in my English Lit class on Thursday when we realised that my nails matched the walls and door of the room while wearing this colour, so I thought it was funny to camoflage my hands all lesson!)

Sorry that this is such a late post! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! Let me know what your favourite nail polishes are!

Birthday + Book Haul

Hello Loves,

This is my first post as an 18 year old - I'm technically an adult, how scary is that? As some of you may know it was mine and Chloe's Birthday yesterday, I had a lovely weekend with my family and friends so I thought I would share a few pictures with you!

Friday Night Sleepover!

It was also one of my friends 18th Birthdays on Saturday so this was his surprise party!

My lovely friend Shannon!
 Mine and Chloe's Birthday Cupcakes!

Flowers from my work!

My lovely friend Emily and two of my cousins :)

The girls of the family!

I would like to thank Alona, Cerys, Ariel, Maria and Barby for their lovely posts, tweets and messages yesterday! I love you girls! <3
So, I got some lovely Birthday presents including the new laptop I am currently writing this post on, I was in desperate need of a new one because my old one was falling apart! I also got a kindle which I was very excited about so I purchased some books on it! Let me know if you have read any of them!

  • The Fame Game - Lauren Conrad - I love love loved the LA Candy series so I am very excited to read the spin off series based on Madison!

  • Uglies - Scott Westerfeld - This was a recommendation from the lovely Perdi, I've heard so many good things about this series so I thought I'd check this book out!

  • Insurgent - Veronica Roth - I am currently reading Divergent as I am in my what I call post-hungergames depression phase haha! As you guys know I am a massive fan of the Hunger Games trilogy so I was recommended to read Divergent which I also love! So this is the second book in the series :)

  • Matched - Ally Condie - I actually purchased this after watching one of Elle Fowler's Glitteratures on Youtube, this book sounded amazing so I am super excited to read this!
Do you guys have any book recommendations? Let me know!

Hunger Games TAG

Hello my lovelies!

I don't know about you guys but I am still trying to get used to this new format! Anyway, as a lot of you guys know I am slightly obsessed with The Hunger Games and if you follow me on twitter you may know that I have seen it 4 times now haha! Anyway, I found this tag which is based on all three books, so if you haven't read them yet prepare for SPOILERS FROM ALL 3 BOOKS.

I am not sure who has read the books so I don't have any specific people to tag but if you have read them I Tag YOU!!!

The Questions

1. What is your favourite book in the hunger games trilogy?

I absolutely love all three but I would have to pick the first book, it was the one that made me obsessed with the series and I love the plot!

2. How long would you last in the Hunger Games?

Realistically, about 5 minutes, I'd probably get killed straight away by one of the careers haha, if I made it past that point I would be like Foxface or Rue and just run and hide, although the completely unrealistic part of me would love to be like Katniss!

3. What is the strangest thing you thought happened in the books?

This is a major spoiler, but I was really surprised at the ending of Mockingjay when Katniss killed Coin and was allowed to live back in District 12!

4. How were you introduced to the Hunger Games?

I remember a couple of years back a guy in my class was telling me about the first book saying how amazing it was.Me, being my typical girly 15/16 year old self thought that they sounded way too violent so left it at that. Then around January of this year I began to see all of the hype forming around the movie, so many people including other girls on youtube began to vlog about how good the books were, so in February I decided to get the first book which I didn't start reading til the beginning of March I believe. My copy has now been read by six of my friends haha!

5. Favourite moment that happens in Hunger Games?

I am going to assume that this means just the first book. There's so many bits I like, but I would have to say the night before the games! I loved reading about the interviews, especially when Peeta told Ceaser that he loved Katniss. I also love how that night they both talk on the roof :)

6. Favourite Villain?

Some people count Effie as a villain so I would have to pick her as she is also one of my favourite characters. I feel like she is half a villain and half not as she is one of the only people from the Capitol who is truly aware of what is going on in the districts, but she also fully supports the games. However, she does add some comic relief in the books and her outfits seem amazing!

7. Who is your Favourite Character?

This is such a tough question but other than the obvious answer of Katniss I would have to say Peeta. Even though he is a guy I feel like I can relate to him the most out of all of the characters, he believes so strongly in staying true to himself and is so sweet!

8. What District would you live in?

I think the nicest district to live in would probably be 1 as it's industry is producing luxury goods for the Capitol. However, I would probably fit in District 12 most!

9. What was the most emotional moment in the books for you?

Either Rue or Prim's deaths I cried so much!

10. What item from home would you take into the Arena with you?

I would probably take my Tiffany heart necklace as I would actually be able to wear it and it was a gift from my parents. I feel like a piece of jewellery or something you could wear would be the best option in the arena.

11. What was the most evil plan someone made in the books?

Anything created by the Capitol was pretty evil, but I'd have to say when president Snow fed Peeta the trackerjacker poision to make him evil and to turn him against Katniss.

12. What was your favourite part of the movie?

My favourite scene in the movie was probably the training centre scene when Katniss shoots the arrow through the apple when the game makers are ignoring her! I also loved seeing the Capitol and the Arena for the first time, it was just how I imagined it to be! However, I am also obsessed with Effie's one liners :)

THAT IS MAHOGANY!!!

I hope you enjoyed this tag and comment if you do this, I would love to read your opinions!

More Makeup: Natural Collection, Stila + TooFaced

Hello Girlies,

It's nearly 1am, I've just been out with my friends and for some reason I feel the need to blog! Earlier today I went shopping with my sister Chloe and one of our girlfriends! Well, I went to Boots and TK Maxx and got some makeup! As I was going out this evening Chloe was kind enough to take the picture of the products for me!

Stila - TKMaxx all 3 Items - £7.99
How crazy is that? All 3 Stila products for £7.99! In the packet came:
Stila Shine Lip Colour - Chelsea 05 - RRP £13 - This is a lovely sheer corally pink.
Stila Lip Shine - Angel Shine 07 - RRP £12 - This is a fairly subtle light pink gloss!
Stila Convertible Color Dual Lip and Cheek Cream - Petunia - RRP £16 - I am a bit obsessed with this one, it's a gorgeous corally pink colour which I think will be perfect on both cheeks and lips this spring/ summer!

Too Faced Eye Shadow Duo - £2.99
Another TK Maxx find, seriously guys get down there! I got this one in the shade "Bon Bon", as mentioned in the previous post the RRP is £14.50 so paying £2.99 is absolutely crazy! These shadows are gorgeous, I can't wait to try them out, one side is a peachy pink while the other is a shimmery taupe!
Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipsticks - £1.99
I seriously love these lipsticks, they are so so cheap and the colours are gorgeous!
Rose Bud (Left) - This is a beautiful rosey red colour, I think it is neutral enough to wear in the day time without being my typical nude - LOVE
Rose Petal (Right) - Boots were actually having a 3 for 2 offer when I was buying these so Chloe picked up this shade too! It's a lovely natural soft pink.

I hope you enjoyed this haul! Let me know if you have found any recent cosmetic bargains!

Mini Makeup Haul - TooFaced and Barry M

Hello Sweeties!

I hope you are having a lovely week! Sorry for the recent lack of posts, I just wanted to share a little bargain I found with you all today, I would have taken pictures but my camera is charging and it's dark!!! Basically, I quickly popped into town today to have a coffee with some friends and we went into TK Maxx only to find this:

Too Faced Eye Shadow Duo - Teddy Bear & Heaven
How much you may ask? £2.99!!! Seriously £2.99 these shades are gorgeously pigmented and are a beautiful matte brown and cream. I am slightly obsessed, I love high end make up but not high end prices so I was thrilled to find this!  The single eyeshadows retail for £13.50 in Boots so this was a steal! Go to your local TK Maxx to see what you can find!

The next thing I got doesn't even seem to be launched online yet but I promise I will post pictures tomorrow as there are no images online!!! I purchased a new Barry M nail paint in 'Silvery Lilac' it is what the name suggests but with a hint of blue in there too! They also have three other new shades which I will be purchasing in: Copper which is a true copper colour, Teal, Denim and a black polish with rainbow glitters!

Also I have added 3 pages above a current favourite songs page, a quotes page as I love writing down quotes and a rather long about me page where I completely ramble, but it gives a much more indepth insight into this little brain of mine haha! So if you feel like it you can check those pages out! :)

Flat Friday

Hello Lovelies!

I hope you are having a fab Good Friday, I just got back from the cinema - I saw the Hunger Games for the third time with one of my friends haha! Anyway, whilst walking I thought that very soon it is not going to be Ugg boot weather so I'm in the mood to get some lovely new flats! So here's some that I have been lusting over:

RiverIsland - £20
I think these are so girly and feminine, I love the chiffon bow which is a great touch!

H&M - £7.99
My friend actually has these so I'm not sure if I'll buy them myself, but I love leopard print and these are adorable. I feel like it's a nice way to add a bold print into and outfit without being too over whelming.

ASOS - £25
I love love love these, they are so simple and black goes with everything, but I feel like the gold bow allows them to be worn casually and formally.
Red Herring at Debenhams - £18
Okay, so these remind me of little girls shoes BUT I am loving pastel colours right now and these are super sparkly and girly with a pretty peeptoe!

RiverIsland - £22
I think these shoes are a great way to keep with the colour blocking trend without going over board if it's not something you are comfortable with. I feel like the neutral colours will go with so many outfits!

Let me know what you guys think! I love wearing flats around college so let me know what some of your favourites are!

Hello Lovlies!

1. Do you have a middle name?
I do, my middle name is Victoria.

2. What is your Favorite subject in school?
Well while I was at school I loved English the most because I love to read. However, now I'm at sixth form my favourite subject is Sociology which they didn't offer at my school. I love how relevant it is to everyday life - I'm currently studying Crime and Deviance, it's so interesting!

I Need Your Help!!! - Costume Ideas

Hello lovely ladies,

I hope you've all had a lovely week, mine has been pretty hectic as the final week of term always is when studying alevels, I finally accepted my offers to University so now all I have to do is apply for accomodation and sit my exams -eek!!

I'm planning on doing a post about the application process for University as mine is finally nearly over (woo!) but please let me know whether you guys would be interested :) I'd discuss how I chose the right course, the right university, visits, the application itself etc.

ANYWAY, to the main point of this post, one of my friends at college is having an 18th Birthday party in May and the theme is her initials A and R. This means that I have to come up with a costume that begins with A or R, I want to be a girl character and so far that's the only criteria haha! I know alot of my friends are going all out so if you guys have any ideas it would be much appreciated!

Sorry for such a short post, more will be on the way very soon!

Stay Beautiful,

Hannah xx

Current Favourites :) + Barry M Nail Polish Giveaway - CLOSED

Hi Guys,

How has your week been so far? The sun has been shining for the past couple of days which instantly puts me in a better mood AND I am going to see the Hunger Games tommorow, for some reason my cinema is showing it a day early so I'm seeing it with my Mum and then my friends on Friday night aswell haha! Who else is going to see it? Which reminds me, I finished Catching Fire and Mockingjay so let me know if you guys would like a post on those.

Anyway, I realised that I haven't done a favourites post in such a long time, so I thought I'd break conventions and do a general one in the middle of March, so let's go!

Boss Orange - For Women
This is my absolute fragrance of all time, in the past year I've been through nearly two bottle of this lovely perfume. It has hints of vanilla and orange blossom, so it smells absolutely gorgeous, if you are on the hunt for a new scent I definetly recommend it!

Soap and Glory - Thick and Fast Mascara
I actually got this free in Elle magazine recently, some of you guys may have seen the post on it, but this beauty usually retails for £10, and I have to say I probably will repurchase this. This mascara volumises aswell as lenghtens your lashes!
 Tangle Teezer Hairbrush
I'm sure some of you guys will have seen or heard of these hair brushes as they are sold in boots for about £12 which I always thought was rather expensive for a hair brush - so I got  mine for Christmas haha! However, now I've actually used it for a few months I have to say it's worth every penney, it feels so gentle on your hair and gets out every last knot and tangle without ripping all of your hair out!

Essie - Cute as a Button
This is a typical cult favourite, and I have been wearing this colour nonstop for the past couple of weeks! The polish is a gorgeous corally colour which is perfect for spring. I purchased this in New York last year so I'm not sure if you can buy it in shops in the UK although I know you can get it online :)

Sex And The City by Eylure - Miranda Lashes
Some of you guys may have seen these in a recent haul, and I recently wore them to a friends birthday, so you can see them in my most recent OOTN here (not very upclose I'm afraid but you get the idea!) The thing I love about these lashes is that they are not too long to make them look un natural, but they add enough length and more volume towards the outer corner of the eye to create the illusion of bigger eyes. For £1.99 in Savers you can't go wrong! I will be stocking up on these!

Now onto non beauty favourites:

Not the healthiest of food favourites, but recently I've been addicted to Kinder Bueno bars! Yum!

Sunday Lane - Reckless One
My friend actually showed me this song because she heard it on One Tree Hill, which is a show that I don't actually watch, but I might start to! Anyway, this is such a beautiful song, give it a listen! Me and my friends were deciding what the soundtrack to eachothers lives would be during a substitute lesson yesterday, for a secret extra entry to the giveaway below, comment with the soundtrack to your life haha!

Eyes Open - Taylor Swift
So as you guys know I am a massive Taylor Swift fan and a massive Hunger Games fan. So when those two things come together there is a very happy Hannah! I absolutely adore this song, it fits so well with the books! Love love love it!

I'm Back! - 5 Things With a Story Tag

Hi Girls!

I am so sorry, it's been such a long time since I last blogged, a lot of college and friend related things have kept me very busy, including recieving my January exam results and beginning to apply for student finance for uni - eek! Anyway, my lovely sister Chloe theramblecorner.blogspot.com started this 5 Things With a Story tag so I thought I'd join in and show you some things I have with a story!

1. My Board of Stuff (Number 1)
To be perfectly honest I didn't know what to name this so here we go haha! This is a cork board I have hung up in my room with various pictures, tickets, quotes stickers etc. I have tickets from films I've seen, a Disney World Ticket, doodles my friend and I did on a plane at 3am, a ticket and a picture from when my friends and I saw The Wanted last summer, pictures from parties, holidays with Chloe etc. and  a few quotes and song lyrics that I like - this board changes over time!

2. Union Jack Board of Stuff
This board has more things from my travels etc - you can probably see a few train and Tube tickets for various times I've been to London, Cambridge and Thorpe Park, I like to look at the dates because I remember what happened that day etc. I then have a plane ticket from my trip to New York, with tickets for the Empire State Building, The Rockerfeller Centre and a Cruise of The Hudson River. There's also a ticket from when I went to see a play of Frankenstein last October with my college class in Cambridge - we had to run through the whole town at 11 at night and we just made it onto the last train (it was like a movie my friend got on just as the doors were shutting haha!) Finally there's a ticket to the o2 to see the Xfactor Auditions and my ticket holder for Busch Gardens and Seaworld.

3. Tinkerbell TShirt
When I was 10 years old, my family went to Orlando Florida for the first time, which was so exciting for me and Chloe because that meant DISNEY WORLD!!! At the time I was absolutely obsessed with Tinkerbell, so every day I wanted to buy something with Tinkerbell on it, eventually I gave in and used some of the money I'd been saving to get this T-Shirt! I absolutely loved it and wore it all the time :) It's also a lovely reminder of my favourite childhood holiday!

4. Lucky Bracelet
This is my lucky bracelet from when I was in Primary school, in year 6 I remember taking it into my SATs exam and I did well, so after that I took it into every exam throughout school. It's funny because I forgot I had this and I convieniently found it today! I remember how I absolutely adored this because it was so girly, pink and sparkly! Who knows, maybe I'll start taking it into exams again?!

5. Sling Shot TShirt

In 2010 my family and some family friends went back to Florida once again, and if you guys have ever been or live there, you might have seen a place called 'Fun Spot', it's like a fair sort of thing. Well anyway, the day we got there we were driving to our villa and I saw these two giant colourful poles and then saw two people getting thrown up into the air (in a chair ofcourse) getting spun around. My words were "I would never go on that. Ever." Two days later this happened.....

After being flung 400feet up in the air with my friend we got the TShirt as shown above! So that's another item with a story :) I was so scared but I'm really happy I went on it, Chloe took the picture, so when they flung us up in the air everyone looked like ants haha!

I hope you enjoyed this tag guys! I'm going to tag a few of you that my sister hasn't already tagged but please feel free to do the tag if I haven't tagged you :) Please comment if you do this tag, I would love to hear your stories!

OOTN: Leopard Print Dress

Hello Sweeties,

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend, as promised I'm putting up an outfit of the night post from my friends 18th Birthday! Long story short, my camera died so I quickly got Chloe to take a rather rubbish photo on my phone as I was about to leave the house - excuse the pillow and bag below haha!

Below is a picture taken the day I got the dress although as shown above I got rid of the belt that came with it because it wasn't particularly good quality, but the lighting was better and I thought you might like to see it with a blazer - ANYWAY the dress itself was £10 from Primark, as was the belt which was £2. The shoes were plain black heels shown in my most recent haul from Newlook and were £20, I must say they were so comfortable, I mangaged to stay in them all night!! The blazer was also from Newlook last year so I can't remember how much it costs :( The bag is from Riverisland as a Christmas gift a year ago. I also wore the 'Miranda' Sex in The City false eyelashes by Eyelure which are only £1.99 in savers including glue - bargain! Let me know if you guys would like a post on how to apply false eyelashes because until recently it's always been something I've found tricky!

Below are a couple of pictures from the night so you might be able to see the makeup a little better!

Also I thought I'd let you Hunger Games fans know that I have just purchased Catching Fire and Mocking Jay, I'm so excited to read them it's not even funny! If you have the shop the works near you they are selling all 3 books for £5?!?!?! Crazy I know, so I gave the first book to one of my friends so hopefully she'll be as hooked as I am!

I've also noticed that I have reached 300 followers, so I would like to say a massive massive thankyou to all my lovely followers, I wouldn't have got this far without you, I feel like some of you are actually my friends! Hopefully in the coming weeks I shall be posting a giveaway so keep your eyes peeled for that one! I was thinking of another Barry M giveaway or as I can still get my hands on it the Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure flakie polish, so let me know which you'd prefer!

BB Book Club - I Finished The Hunger Games! :D

Hello lovely bloggers!

How has your week been? I've finally managed to hand in all of my English coursework, which meant I was able to finish reading The Hunger Games. I seriously think it is the best book I have read in a very very long time which is saying something considering one of my subjects consists of reading ridiculous amounts of books!

First of all I'd like to tell you about my preconceptions of reading the novel because if you're a bit sceptical this may relate to you! When I very first heard about the Hunger Games about six months ago I completely discounted reading it, I've always been interested in 'girly' types of books and romance novels etc, I've never read Twilight or Harry Potter (Don't hate me!!) so when it came under the genre of action, and was in the childrens section of WH Smiths I assumed it would be too young. However, over the past few months I noticed that with the upcoming release of the movie, Taylor Swift being on the sound track and it's very own nail polish range for China Glaze, I thought that there may be more to the Hunger Games than meets the eye, I heard the constant hype about the book and genuinely became intrigued and wanted to read it. BEST DECISION EVER.

I found the plot fast moving, yet descriptive and informative. I don't want to give any spoilers because I 100% recommend that those of you who have not read the book go and check it out, even if like me you think and action/adventure book is not for you!  This is the blurb:

"Set in a dark vision of the near future, a terrifying reality TV show is taking place. Twelve boys and twelve girls are forced to appear in a live event called The Hunger Games. There is only one rule: kill or be killed. When sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen steps forward to take her younger sister's place in the games, she sees it as a death sentence. But Katniss has been close to death before. For her, survival is second nature."

The novel is set in a post apocolyptic World, and the country of Panem is where the United States used to be. The country is split into 12 districts of varying wealth and skill, all of these are ruled by the Capitol who have created the Hunger Games, a televised event in which 1 boy and 1 girl aged 12 -18 from each district must fight until only one is left alive. The protagonist - Katniss is from District 12 which is the poorest of the 12 districts volunteers to be the tribute after her younger sister Prim is selected. I won't discuss what happens after that as I don't want to ruin the book for any of you, but all I can say is that the story is amazing and very thought provoking!

Let me know what you think of The Hunger Games if you have read it, if you haven't would you like to? If you haven't heard Taylor Swifts song for the sound track here is Safe and Sound:

An outfit of the night should be up tommorow afternoon hopefully! :)

Primark, Newlook + Make Up Haul :)

Hi girlies,

I am finally back, after what has seemed like a very long week with out blogging! I have however, managed to do a little bit of shopping here and there since the begging of half term and this first week back at college so I thought I'd show you some things that I've picked up!

This is currently filled up with folders, text books and other boring college things, so I thought I'd show you the website picture of my new college bag! It's £14.99 from newlook and is actually big enough to fit all of my folders which is a major plus! They sell this bag in so many colours but I thought the neutral brown would be best, I also love the long strap which helps to distribute the weight of my heavy books!

This is a bit of a rubbish picture, but I picked up these two nail polishes from Accessorize as they were 70% off for £1.35 or something like that :) One the left is Khaki Folly and Hot Pink on the right! I love Accessorize nail polishes, I'm currently wearing Aztec which is £4

So I don't know if it's the same in your local superdrug, but in mine there's a stand of Gosh makeup on sale! Above is GOSH Velvet Touch Waterproof Eyeliner in Pure Natural which was on sale for £2 rather than £5. I like to use natural skin coloured eyeliners on my waterline to reduce and redness and to create a wider eye! Underneath is a cream blush in Silky Rose, which was on sale for £4 rather than the usual £6.50 it's definetly not coming up true to colour, it's more like a rosey pink :)

Next is a simple pair of black heels from Newlook, a staple in every girls wardrobe (or so I've been told!) these cost £20, and will be featuring in an upcoming outfit of the night! I love these because they have a platform which makes them so much more comfortable!

Next is one of those love/hate items, this leopard print dress is £10 from Primark, and is in the typical skater style, the belt around it cost £2 from Primark aswell, the dress actually comes with a belt but I didn't like it haha!  I'm going to be wearing this with black tights, the shoes shown above and possibly a black blazer! I know this print isn't for everyone, but I personally like it, even thought it's a little bit out of my comfort zone!!! Living in Essex, seeing the odd bit of leopard print isn't too unusual haha!

The lacey top is also from Primark and was £7, I love how feminine this top is, I'll obviously be wearing a litte camisole or something underneath but I picked this up because I thought it looked pretty haha!

Let me know if you have any hauls or posts you would like me to look at! I try my best to respond to all of your lovely comments so let me know if you have any questions!

Stay Beautiful,

Hannah xx
